When all eyes of the world are on Rio this summer, will you want to know more? Dig deeper? See the real Rio?

 R.E.A.L. (Raw Engaging Authentic Live) Rio is an online digital experience that takes you behind the official broadcast cameras, beyond sports and into the hearts and eyes of the local community. We will showcase what is really happening on the ground and provide a cultural education of Rio de Janeiro, real Cariocas (citizens of Rio de Janeiro) and how being on the world stage impacts their communities.

Daily videos, images and blog posts, will connect and engage viewers with stories of arts & culture, health, lifestyle and the ultimate impact of the games. We want to highlight what the Olympic movement feels like to locals – both the excitement and the challenges.

On the screens of tablets, computers and smartphones, R.E.A.L. Rio has the potential to reach millions of consumers, wherever they are, and fill the gap created by Olympic media coverage with cultural education and authentic experiential journalism.

Sochi 2014

Sochi Pride - Trailer

Sochi Pride is 30 minute documentary that was filmed in  the lead up to and during the most controversial games of our generation.  It is told from a first person narrative as I attempted to explore Russia's anti-gay law and the appropriateness of the Olympics to be staged in hostile political climates.

It is an educational and enlightening story that digs deeper into the controversy surrounding the Sochi 2014 Winter Games and how the Olympic movement is forever altered because of it. 

This film was recently selected to be shown at the My True Colours Festival in New York City and will be premiering this June.

London 2012

During the London Olympics we were tasked with covering the cultural olympiad for CBC as well as creating a video blog for UBC Events.  The top three videos were all published on CBC's arts website.  The bottom three videos appeared on Events.ubc.ca
